APPELLATION: Getariako Txakolina VARIETALS: Hondarribi Zuri 50%, Hondarribi Beltz 50%
AGEING: 2 months on the lees ALCOHOL: 11.5%
RATING: 90 Pts Peñin Guide
Fine and sophisticated aroma, with citrus and menthol notes. Subtle aromas of red fruits, including strawberries and cherries. This wine is harmonious in the mouth and its freshness is reminiscent of sour candy, being jovial for its bubbles. This ends with a gentle semi-dry finish. Best paired with seafood dishes such as oysters, sushi, and fish tempura
Akarregi Txiki is a traditional winery that has been making wine for generations. Located on the slopes of Getaria, the Akarregi Txiki farmhouse occupies an area of approximately 17 hectares that yield around 140,000 liters of Txakoli every year. Akarregi Txiki is one of the pioneers in the region being one of the 11 founders of the appellation. Harvesting is done exclusively by hand in boxes of 20 kilos. Once picked, the grapes are taken directly from the vineyard to the winery, where the production process begins.
