This cuvée offers an intense nose of red fruits, vanilla and toasted notes. On the palate, it has spice and toast layers to support the rich black-plum fruits. With its silky texture and juicy acidity, the wine has a sumptuous, generous feel.
Bought in 1897 by Jean Raboutet, Château Le Chay is now run by 6th generation winemakers Aurélie et Alexandre Peuch-Raboutet. Today, they grow grapes on 20 hectares of land on clay and limestone soils. The wines are aged in oak barrels and bottled on site. Following their desire to make wine in harmony with nature, in 2018 they joined the “Bordeaux Wine Environmental System Association” and were certified as HEV (High environmental value).
